  • Bank connections with Shift

Why do I need to connect my business bank account to Shift?

To process your application and provide you with a limit, we require you to connect your business bank account to your Shift account.

The credit limits we provide are based on your banking data. A bank connection is essential for suitable products and limits to be offered to you.

Is it safe to connect my bank account?

Yes. Your banking data is encrypted, handled in line with Australian privacy laws, and provided to Shift in a secure, read-only format.

This bank connection allows us to assess your credit, set appropriate limits, and create opportunities for future limit increases as your business grows.

When do I need to do this?

You will be asked to connect your bank account via Shift Online when getting set up with Shift for the first time. This process forms part of your onboarding steps.

What if I can’t connect my bank account?

Bank data is required to provide limits, as limit approvals are based on real transactions and business activity. If establishing a bank connection isn’t possible, you may be asked to provide PDF bank statements for your initial credit assessment.
